Reader's Journal #3 "Justin Bieber:First Step to Forever" by: Justin Bieber

Non Fiction

Dear Mrs. Zrihen,
The book that I am reading is called,"Justin Bieber:First Step to Forever," by Justin Bieber.  A quote that I thought meant a lot to me was," Never Say Never," on page 7, because to me it meant that you should always believe in yourself and never put yourself down by saying you can never do something.  That is why the quote was very meaningful to me.   I would do a lot of things, before, during, and after reading a book.  Before reading a book, I would look at the cover to see if it looks interesting, and also read the synopsis to see if the book has a hook to it.  While reading a book, I would put a sticky note on every page that I thought had a great quote or meaning to it, and put sticky notes on pages with words that I don't understand, so I can look them up after and see what the book meant by that.  Last but not least, After reading a book, I would look up all the words, and then write a readers journal, about what the book is about.  The characters in the book are Justin Bieber, Jeremy Bieber, Pattie Mallete, and all of Jusin's fans, work crew, and friends.  The setting of this story takes place in a small town called Stratford, Ontario in Canada.  Justin was a little boy when he found out that he loves to play instruments and sing. He never had any lessons and was always trying out new things that he heard.  One time, Justin and his mother (Pattie) decided to post videos of him singing on Youtube, so his whole family can see and not miss out on anything.  Justin started posting more and more videos of himself and soon got millions of views.  That's how it all started for him.  My point of view of this book is, that I chose it because I like Justin Bieber, and because to hear about someone who came fom nothing and now is the number one pop star in the world, is amazing.  This book was interesting to me because I like all the passion he put into it about his friends and family, and what it meant to him when he left them. I would rate this book a 10-10 because I love the way he expresses himself and how much he cares and appreciates everything he has in life.  I recommend this book mainly for girls because I don't really thing guys would be interested in a male singers life.  That is what and why I chose this book to read.

Sincerely,
Danielle Ben-David
