Reader's Journal #2 "Beastly" by: Alex Flinn

Fantasy

,Dear Mrs.Zrihen
".The book that I am reading is called "Beastly," by: Alex Flinn  A quote that I thought had a meaning to it was, "what' important  is the beauty on the outside, not the inside," on page 17 because it's like saying that whoever is not beautiful on the outside, is worth nothing, which is not true at all because whoever is beautiful on the inside, is the one who cares the most about other people then themselves only.  That is what I think that quote means and meant to me.  There are many things you do before, during, and after reading a book.  bookBefore reading a book, I would look at the cover to see if it looks interesting, and also read the synopsis to see if the book has a hook to it.  While reading a book, I would put a sticky note on every page that I thought had a great quote or meaning to it, and put sticky notes on pages with words that I don't understand, so I can look them up after and see what the book meant by that.  Last but not least, After reading a book, I would look up all the words, and then write a readers journal, about what the book is about.  The characters in the book are Kyle, Linda, Kendra, and Will.  The setting of the book takes place, in a school event program, where kids run against each other to vote for school president.  This kid named Kyle, thinks that everything is based on looks.  So one day, this witch named Kendra, decided to teach Kyle a lesson, by making him the ugliest person alive on Earth.  The only way he can turn back to his normal self, is if someone says "I Love You," within a year to him.  That is what the book is about.  My point of view of the book I chose is, that love comes within the inside  and not with whats on the outside.  I would rate this book a 10, because it shows people that they don't need to fear the outside but mainly to fear whats inside.  I would recommend this book for boys and girls because, I want people to learn the
.value and quality that this book meant to me when I read it

Reader's Journal #1 "Princess For Hire" by: Lindsey Leavitt

Fiction

             Dear Mrs.Zrihen,
The book that I am reading is called "Princess for Hire", by Lindsey Leavitt.  A quote that I thought had a meaning to it was,"I would do anything, to basically, avoid portraying my actual life," on page 2, because it is like saying, that you don't love your life and you would rather do anything then go back to being yourself in your own life.  Everyone is who they make themselves to be, and thats what makes people unique.  I would do a lot of things, before, during, and after reading a book.  Before reading a book, I would look at the cover to see if it looks interesting, and also read the synopsis to see if the book has a hook to it. The characters in the book are Desi, Meredith, Celeste, Kylee, and Hayden.  The setting of this book takes place at a pets store called. " Pets Charming Pets Store."  This book is about a girl named Desi from Idao, that makes unique t-shirts,  she has a friend named Kylee.  They both go to the same school, except Desi is always treated badly by Celeste and her gang, and is also embarrassed by her parents and her job a lot.  One day, she picked up a newspaper and started reading through it, when a unique, green inked ad popped up saying that they needed a teenage girl to pretend to be Princesses.  Desi ended up getting the job, and loved it.  The only bad part, was that she couldn't tell anyone about it.  After being hired for her job, she just became better and people stopped bullying her.  That is what the book is about.  My point of view of this book, is that I chose this book because I liked the cover and the synopsis and it looked very entertaining to read.  I really enjoyed reading this book, and I would rate it a 7, because I thought it was good, but it didn't make sense at first.  I recommend this book for girls only, because I really don't think boys would want to read about princesses.  That is what this book is about.

Sincerely,
